Of Fingertips and Galaxies

I don’t know about you, but in the throws of this pandemic my backyard just isn’t cutting it anymore.  I’m chomping at the bit for a trip to the great outdoors … someplace light years beyond the boundaries of my fence.  I want to gaze out on panoramic vistas and hike through wide-open spaces until I’m so tired I can’t take another step.  I want to photograph spectacular natural wonders and stand in awe of God’s creative power.  This month, Jerry and I have channeled these yearnings into a brand-new episode of 2-Minute Wonders.

This short video, OF FINGERTIPS AND GALAXIES, is a celebration of one of the greatest scientific achievements in history—the Hubble Space Telescope.  For the past 30 years this extraordinary window to the universe has revolutionized our understanding of the cosmos with a gallery of unimaginable photographs. One of these images was released to the world last May. For 250 hours (over a span of 16 years), the Hubble telescope surveyed a pinpoint of outer space near the Fornax constellation in the southern hemisphere.  The results were absolutely mind-boggling.

So, would you like to join me on a journey to a cosmic ocean full of galaxies far, far away?  It’ll be a great break from the lockdown.

During these difficult times, I’m more mindful than ever of how much your friendship and encouragement have blessed my life and the ministry of Illustra Media. For 23 years, we have tried to share the reality of God as revealed through the universe He has created. Your support has made this work possible. Lord willing, we look forward to producing and sharing many more films and videos with you during the months to come.
