Welcome to THE JOHN 10:10 PROJECT
During the past 20 years, one of our foremost desires as a ministry has been to present our work to the largest possible audiences. Pouring thousands of hours into these productions has been an incredible experience. Yet, the greatest joy in making films comes from knowing they are having an impact on the lives of others.
Through VHS tapes (yes, Illustra has been around that long), DVDs, digital streaming and television broadcasts, our documentaries have been viewed by millions of men, women and children on five continents. We are thankful for these opportunities. Many seeds of God’s truth have been planted. Now, we’re ready to take the next step in our effort to reach the world.
Since January, Jerry Harned and I have been working on a project that could provide the most effective platform for ministry and distribution Illustra Media has ever had. We live in a world where far more films are viewed each day on phones and tablets than on televisions and in theaters—primarily because we have immediate access to them on mobile devices we carry in our briefcases, purses, backpacks or pockets.
This same world is populated by Christians who struggle with a universal dilemma: how can we share the experience of Christ’s lasting peace, joy and fulfillment when our day-to-day lives are often minefields loaded with disappointment, doubt, pain and suffering? (Personally, I’ve grappled with this question for more than 40 years). This fundamental need, coupled with the technology of the digital age, has inspired us to build a website and an outreach strategy. We call it THE JOHN 10:10 PROJECT.
The content of this website is based on a promise Jesus made in the Gospel of John: “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). This “abundant life” has nothing to do with material wealth, power or fame. Instead, Jesus offered something far more valuable—a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe, and with it forgiveness, joy, compassion and the peace that surpasses all understanding…regardless of how difficult our circumstances may be.
Since 1997 (in addition to our extensive work on the development of a scientific case for intelligent design), we’ve produced 11 films that have focused on content vital to a satisfying, consistent walk with God. These documentaries include THE CASE FOR CHRIST, THE CASE FOR FAITH and THE CASE FOR A CREATOR (all based on Lee Strobel’s best-selling books), EXODUS REVEALED, PROPHECIES OF THE PASSION, DOES GOD EXIST, THE POWER OF PRAYER, HEAVEN & HELL, THE END TIMES, AMAZING GRACE and KING OF CREATION.
We’ve edited several of these films into 48 stand-alone modules ranging in length from 4-12 minutes. They feature dozens of outstanding pastors, ministry leaders and scholars, including Joni Eareckson Tada, Lee Strobel, Greg Koukl, and J.P Moreland. Their subject matter probes crucial topics like “Evidence for Faith,” “Facing Evil and Suffering,” “The Power of Prayer” and “Dealing with Doubt.” The production values are excellent and the messages resonate on a deeply personal level. We’ll be adding new videos every month.
There is another facet of this website I’m excited about. Each of the videos featured in THE JOHN 10:10 PROJECT is designed to be shared via major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or email). That means you can play a major role in growing this ministry. We want the world to know about it, and the best way to make that happen is when people like you spread the word to everyone they know. So, start posting on Facebook, tweeting on Twitter and forwarding the film clips by email. You are now officially part of our outreach team.
This is the most exciting time in history to be a Christian and a filmmaker. The technologies are in place to easily reach massive audiences with the most important truths in the universe.
